Quick Response Evaluation of Precision Approach Path Indicator

Test of the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) system, using standard Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) lighting fixtures. The purpose was to determine PAPI system suitability for possible use as a substitute for the 3 -BAR VASI system now used to provide visual glide slope guidance at airports served by large, wide-bodied jet transports.
