Dr. David Brill from the Airport Technology Research & Development (ATR) Branch was the featured speaker at the annual awards dinner for the ASCE South Jersey Branch in Mount Laurel, NJ on November 9, 2023. Dr. Brill spoke on Engineering Safer, Stronger, and More Sustainable Airport Pavements at the FAA Technical Center. His presentation highlighted the FAA’s cutting-edge efforts including extending the life of airport pavements and use of unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) for pavement inspections. The event was attended by about 50 people including student scholarship recipients from Rowan University.
