Qingge Jia / Thursday, March 2, 2023 / Categories: News TRB Annual Meeting Members of the Airport Technology R&D Branch (ATR) attended the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C, January 8 -12. The Annual Meeting provides an important opportunity for transportation professionals from around the world to connect and address topics that are crucial to advancing transportation research domestically and internationally. Over 10,000 professionals attended the 2023 Annual Meeting. Representatives from ATR included Dr. David Brill, Mat Brynick, Dr. Navneet Garg, Dr. Richard Ji, Qingge Jia, and Wilfredo Villafane. ATR personnel met with key stakeholders throughout the conference to discuss critical transportation research topics. Dr. Brill and Dr. Garg gave presentations on permafrost and FAA research on low embodied carbon materials respectively in the Aviation Climate Change and Sustainability Subcommittee. Dr. Garg served as a panelist for the Life-Cycle Assessment for Transportation Infrastructure workshop that included panelists from EPA, FHWA, DOA, and OST. Papers authored by Dr. Garg and Mr. Villafane contributed to the Airfield Pavement Performance and Management session content, while papers authored by Dr. Brill and Dr. Garg contributed to the Nontraditional Airfield Pavement Structures and Materials session content.
