Publication

Dr. Navneet Garg of the Airport Technology Research & Development (ATR) branch co-authored a research paper: Shear failure investigation of unbound pavement layers under accelerated heavy aircraft loading: case study, published in the International Journal of Pavement Engineering (IJPE). The paper highlights the cooperation between two Department of Transportation organizations: FAA and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Pavement performance data generated at the National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF) was shared with FHWA and used to improve their pavement analysis software for studying pavement failure under super heavy loads.
