(HHI) Heliport in Kearny, New Jersey on August 4-6, 2024. The data collection involved measuring the landing precision of helicopters using the heliport under normal operations. Researchers will analyze the collected data to support the development of safety and design standards for vertiports where vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft will operate in the future. To date, there are no certified VTOL aircraft from which to measure performance. Therefore, all efforts are currently limited to pre-production, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) VTOLs and helicopters.
