FAA Runway Safety and Pavement Maintenance Seminar for Africa
February 7 - 10, 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in cooperation with the United States Department of Transportation's Safe Skies for Africa program (SSFA), was pleased to present the FAA Runway Safety Seminar for Africa. This event is generously hosted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The seminar was held February 7 - 10, 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The seminar was open to federal policymakers, aerodrome inspectors, aerodrome managers from Civil Aviation Authorities, aerodrome operations and maintenance personnel, and airline operators nominated by their organizations to attend.
The seminar provided a forum for attendees to engage in discussions and presentations about runway and airport safety, including improving runway safety areas, runway excursion mitigation airport emergency planning, and technology developments.
